Both are well established, well-known, highly rated companies, rated as ‘Excellent” by AM Best.

This is single-trip coverage for US Residents traveling to US-based and international locations (not subject to published travel restrictions).

EXAMPLES OF COVERAGE
The following are few examples where travel insurance would provide a benefit. Please refer to coverage details for any specific limitations or exclusions:
- Sickness, accidental injury or death to yourself, a family member or traveling companion that results in medically imposed restrictions, as certified by a physician that results in a need to cancel your trip.
- Weather at your departure location that prevents your departure for 48+ hours.
- You are laid off from work from a company from which you have been employed 2+ years, your company transfers your employment location of greater than 250 miles or your company requires you to work rather than travel.
- A natural disaster renders your destination site as uninhabitable or there is a mandatory evacuation for events such as a hurricane, tornado, fire, earthquake, flood, etc.
- Your approved military leave has been revoked or you experience a reassignment.
- The death of a family member who may or may not have been scheduled to accompany you.
- The airlines go on strike and you can’t get to your destination.
- The school where your children attend extends the school year to make up for weather days and it impacts your scheduled travel plans.
- You are hijacked, quarantined, required to serve on a jury, subpoenaed, the victim of a felonious assault, or your primary home experienced a fire within 10 days of departure are also examples where you would be covered.
- You have a traffic accident on the way to your destination.
- You become ill during your trip and incur emergency medical expense to include hospital bills, x-rays, ambulance service, etc.
- You have an injury that requires you to be medically evacuated (coverage up to $250,000).
- Your ski trip is interrupted by lack of snow on the trails or stormy weather prevents you from skiing and you have non-refundable lift tickets.
- The airline lose or delay arrival of your golf clubs and you incur an expense to rent clubs.
- Your baggage is lost or delayed.
- Bankruptcy or Default of a Travel Provider.
- The death of your dog or cat within 7 days of departure prevents you from participating in your planned trip.

LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS
The following exclusions apply to Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Trip Delay, Accidental Death & Dismemberment, Emergency Sickness Medical Expense, Emergency Accident Medical Expense, Emergency Evacuation and Repatriation of Remains:
Loss caused by or resulting from:
1. Pre-Existing Conditions, as defined in the Definitions section (except Emergency Evacuation and Repatriation of Remains);
2. suicide, attempted suicide or any intentionally self-inflicted injury while sane or insane;
3. war, invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities between nations (whether declared or not), civil war;
4. Participation in any military maneuver or training exercise; any Loss starting while you are in the service of the armed forces of any country. Orders to active military service for training purposes of two months or less will not constitute service in the armed forces. Upon notice to the Company of entering the armed forces, the Company will return to You pro-rata any premium paid, less any benefits paid, for any period during which You are in such service;
5. piloting or learning to pilot or acting as a member of the crew of any aircraft;
6. mental or emotional disorders, unless Hospitalized;
7. participation as a professional in athletics;
8. being under the influence of drugs or intoxicants, unless prescribed and used in accordance with the instructions provided by a Physician;
9. commission or the attempt to commit a dishonest, fraudulent or criminal act;
10. participating in Bodily Contact Sports (football, wrestling, ice hockey, rugby, lacrosse, boxing, full contact karate, hurling and rodeo); skydiving; hang-gliding; Parachuting; any race; bungee cord jumping; speed contest (speed contest shall not include any of the regatta races); scuba diving, unless accompanied by a dive master; deep sea diving; spelunking or caving; heli-skiing; extreme skiing; Extreme Sports;
11. dental treatment except as a result of an injury to Sound Natural Teeth;
12. any non-emergency treatment or surgery, routine physical examinations, hearing aids, eye glasses or contact lenses;
13. pregnancy and childbirth (except for complications of pregnancy) except if Hospitalized;
14. curtailment or delayed return for other than covered reasons;
15. traveling for the purpose of securing medical treatment;
16. services not shown as covered;
17. directly or indirectly, the actual, alleged or threatened discharge, dispersal, seepage, migration, escape, release or exposure to any hazardous biological, chemical, nuclear radioactive material, gas, matter or contamination;
18. care or treatment that is not Medically Necessary;
19. care or treatment for which compensation is payable under Worker’s Compensation Law, any Occupational Disease law; the 4800 Time Benefit plan or similar legislation;
20. care or treatment that is payable under any Other Insurance policy;
21. Accidental Injury or Sickness when traveling against the advice of a Physician;
22. cosmetic surgery except for: reconstructive surgery incidental to or following surgery for trauma, or infection or other covered disease of the part of the body reconstructed, or to treat a congenital malformation of a child.
23. canyoning or canyoneering (traveling in canyons using a variety of techniques that may include walking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, abseiling and/or swimming).
